“Long road to Lockhart” ~ a painting about the long journey in the car to Lockhart when I was a little girl. We’d go many times, and always in the dry season as during the wet season it would flood every year. We’d pass the Iron Ranges and the townships along the way. The landscape was vibrant and green and there were many native animals roaming about. I always remember getting bored in the car because the journey took a couple days. The roads back then were also just dirt so it was very bumpy but it was always worth it because when we got up onto country it felt like we were home. I painted this in vivid colours because I would always look out the window and day dream and think about all the beautiful colours I saw on my journey. These colours also represent the happiness these memories bring me.
