Rain on Country ~ a monochromatic depiction of rain falling on country during wet season at the start of the year. The creeks would flood, turning the roads and crossings to mush which in turn cut off access to the township. One way I could always tell a big rain was coming was the green ants.
They’d always come forth from the earth in droves, probably seeking refuge from the coming monsoonal rains. Part of learning about culture was to pay attention to the earth and it’s tiny inhabitants like the little green ants. They may seem small and insignificant but they knew nature and it’s laws and they knew how to survive.
The circles and dots within those circles are the green ants, the big circles represents people’s homes on country and the u shapes represent mob. The lines are the rivers and creeks which flood. The brush strokes covering the canvas represents the rain that falls on country.
